What people are saying about Barcelona El Prat Airport
If you want to travel a bit further than walking La Rambla, this combined Bus, Metro Tram and Funicular Railway ticket makes traveling in Barcelona so easy you'd be mad not to get one. Buy it before you go, pick it up at Tourist Information at the Airport T2 and use it to get 'free' travel on the R line train from Terminal 2 right into the city from where you can easily get a bus or metro to your final destination and, of course, returning to the Airport at the end of your stay is just as easy. Note, when boarding a bus there are two electronic travel card readers either side of the aisle behind the driver and, if you have the printed ticket, make sure you insert your car with the black strip facing away from you and either the number or he arrow on the card facing down (depending on your card). Have a great trip.
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see why purchasing this ahead of time was necessary, as I saw that I could buy this at any kiosk in the metro station. It is also not convenient to have to go to one of 5 specific metro stations to redeem the mobile voucher ahead of time. Once at said metro station, the instructions just said redeem the mobile voucher for the actual ticket "next to the bus stand". Apparently meant a bus stop, not the bus ticket counter in the metro station, which is where I went first. Still giving 5 stars.
The cards were convenient and easy to use...but upon arrival, we were so focused on getting through customs I forgot to pick them up at the airport. So once I got to my lodging I had to find where I could pick them up. So had to buy a card at a metro to get to Plaza Juame to pick them up...when I could have just as easily bought at any kiosk in any metro when I arrived.
We bought online and redeemed at the airport then used the metro to travel into the city. We got fantastic use from our 4 day pass mostly metro which is excellent! We really should have got a 5 day pass though as our pass expired on our last morning and our flight wasn’t until late. So we just used the Aerobus back to the airport for 4 euros each.
we bought for only one day the hop-on-off ticket and used the public buses for 5 days, was ideal for us for travelling around + Geo Caching, buses are extremely on time and travel very often. Was a real good decision to do it this way.
