What people are saying about Auschwitz I

Tour was exceptional! Almost didn’t go due wrong info from companies

The tour was very well executed! It was operated by Gr8 Way tours, and our guide was really excellent. We received multiple emails from the booking company (getyourguide) telling us pickup at 6:10 am. We waited and waited. Turns out, Gr8 Way had sent one other email saying pickup at 5:45 am which went straight to junk mail (which I didn’t look for because I had all the info required from the company I booked with). So, obviously we missed that van. We had to push very hard to be allowed on the next tour van who were also missing people. I hope these companies have sorted this issue, because it came very near to ruining our and another woman’s plans, which were all of our main reasons for being in Krakow. If they have fixed this issue, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for the quality of their tour and guide!

Well organised travel and wonderful tour guide.

The first thing you can say about the tour is that it isn't one you can say 'oh that was a great place'. It's more of a realisation at the inhuman acts that took place in the concentration camps of Auschwitz Birkenau and opening your eyes to what actually went on. A sombering experience that I would advise anyone who wants to know the story of the people who lost their life's there to visit. There is a quote there that really reasonated "Those who forgot our past are condemned to repeat it". I for the life of me and really annoyingly can't remember our tour guide but she was extremely informative and made the tour seem relaxed and not rushed whilst we looked through the various locations at Auschwitz. It was a once in a lifetime experience and one I will always remember.

Absolutely Amazing and thought provoking!

Wow! What a day! Punctual pick up by Michael our driver, very comfortable bus journey throughout. Auschwitz-Birkenau tour extremely insightful and harrowing. The tour guide was exceptional and very respectful. Everything explained perfectly and his knowledge was second to none. Lunch was perfect! Lots of bottled water available to combat extensive heat. Salt mines exceptional and light relief after the camps. Amazing that there are nine levels and we got down to three, which incorporated the must exquisite salt formations. I never knew salt was so versatile, especially the church, which actually holds regular Sunday services and even Weddings! A must see! Overall an exceptional, well organised day and would totally recommend! Julia - England

Good way to spend a day in the Krakow region

Our guide Filip was very passionate about Auschwitz and really set the mood for our visit to Auschwitz. He spoke with a lot of emotion and it left everyone on the tour feeling a great sense of sorrow for the people who had been sent there many years ago. We also visited the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam and having visited Auschwitz gave us a better appreciation for what Anne Frank had gone through. The salt mine was a good experience. I would recommend this tour

A fantastic way to cover two important sites in one day.

Given our limited time in Krakow and the time it would have taken to go to each of these sites independently, the tour was our best option. Paul, the driver, was friendly and efficient. The guides provided at each venue were excellent and particularly knowledgeable. The lunch provided was much larger than expected, and wound up serving as two meals. This was a very well-organized tour.
