What people are saying about Auschwitz I

Very thought provoking and sad place to visit with excellent guide

Time for pick was changed the day before by email 07:05 instead of 08:30) which I had not received as I was on holiday so didn’t check my emails. Had a phone call early on the morning informing us that our driver was outside (we were not ready so had to rush like lunatics). The driver was a lovely young girl who waited patiently for us. The trip itself was very good however it was very rushed between visiting the two parts of the camp. Personally I would have preferred to have more time between as we had very little time after coming out of Auschwitz and was unable to browse the bookshop which we wanted to do before moving on to Birkenau. Both sites were very moving and thought provoking but I really wanted to take more time to see and read everything although I realise the guides were time restricted. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a lovely speaking voice which was well heard through the speakers. Overall a very good tour and guide but a little rushed.

Tour was exceptional! Almost didn’t go due wrong info from companies

The tour was very well executed! It was operated by Gr8 Way tours, and our guide was really excellent. We received multiple emails from the booking company (getyourguide) telling us pickup at 6:10 am. We waited and waited. Turns out, Gr8 Way had sent one other email saying pickup at 5:45 am which went straight to junk mail (which I didn’t look for because I had all the info required from the company I booked with). So, obviously we missed that van. We had to push very hard to be allowed on the next tour van who were also missing people. I hope these companies have sorted this issue, because it came very near to ruining our and another woman’s plans, which were all of our main reasons for being in Krakow. If they have fixed this issue, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for the quality of their tour and guide!

Amazing, we would recommend the tour and trip!

Our driver was really kind. Nice van instead of a big bus. When whe arrived he led us to the guide of the tour. We got free water, the van had great wifi and had airconditioning. The guide wist everything about the topics. She has an excent, but with the audiset you get with the tour you could here her. We want to thank them both really much! 10/10 rate. In short: - You meet at one of the meeting points with the driver - You drive +- 1,5 hour - The driver leads you to the guide - First tour through the museum (Auschwitz 1) - You go back to the van and drive 5 min to Birkenau and there Auschwitz 2 tour strats. - After that, you drive back to one of the points. Please note that you may only bring a small bag with you like the size of 1 A4 paper. Bags like East Pack are not allowed.

Punctual, informative, value for money and efficient!

I can't recommend this tour enough, the guide was very punctual, well-spoken, the transportation was smooth - Van (Volkswagon Transporter). If you happen to get the 7:15am pick-up like I did, you avoid cues and very minimal lags. If you are a historian going in with huge expectations of endless knowledge, save leaving a bad review - this is a great tour with someone with minimal to reasonable knowledge. Cheers!!

Everyone should visit once in their life!

A truly sobering account of man’s inhumanity to man. This is the epitome of terror and evil abounds. It is difficult to reconcile that these acts were committed by fellow human beings - and we still don’t learn from our past mistakes!
