Full description
This tour takes you on a discovery of the different sides to Vienna. You professional tour guide will focus on a total of 6 different topics from the past and present, allowing you to quickly see how the city has so much more to offer than just the famous attractions. At the end you will be part of a very exclusive wine tasting of 3 different wines at a non-public Medieval Viennese wine cellar.

Your tour will begin with the first topic of Romans, Jews, and traders. You will discover Hoher Markt, learning how it is a place that has attracted power-conscious politicians and architects or tradesmen throughout the centuries. Your second topic for the tour will be the Greek Quarter, a hectic neighborhood located at the innermost arm of the Danube River which has been shaped by centuries of trading.

Next up, you will learn about architectural diversity, discovering that all kinds of architectural styles can be found in Vienna’s old town. You will learn of styles carying from Gothic residential towers, to Medieval paving, and back courtyards from the Renaissance, to Baroque city palaces.

You will then learn of myths and legends, hearing many stories and legends which are associated with the rich and colorful history of the city. Following this, you will visit the old university quarter, before then exploring the city's narrow streets and back courtyards. Your tour will then of course conclude with a local wine tasting at a very unique Medieval and non-public wine cellar. You will taste 3 different wines representing Austria, including two white and a red.
