Meet your guide in front of one of Klimt’s favorite Viennese coffee houses. Explore Vienna and see what the city looked like when the young ambitious painter first broke out into the art world. Discover how the city influenced his artistic development.

Stop at the Vienna Secession, which Klimt helped found in 1897. The members of the secession displayed works by young and upcoming artists as well also brought by well-known foreign artists like van Gogh to Vienna.

Marvel at famous buildings such as the Art Nouveau Otto Wagner Pavillion, and the Baroque St. Charles Church. Ride the Viennese tram known as the “Bim” to Belvedere Palace, the summer palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy. Admire the palace’s impressive art collection which contains many Klimt paintings, including his masterpiece: “The Kiss.” Your expert guide, a Ph.D. art historian, will put Klimt's work into its historical context.
