Full description
Day 1
Enjoy the convenience of being picked up from the Vienna airport. Travel to Skalica, the westernmost royal Slovak city. This town has been inhabited since 4000 BCE and is famous for its triangular plaza, and the Romanesque Rotunda of St. George. Taste a skalický trdelník, a delicious pastry in the shape of a tube with a hole inside.

Visit the town of Holíč. See the easternmost Menhir in all of Europe. Menhirs are large man-made upturned rocks, which are monoliths constructed during the European middle Bronze Age. See Slovakia’s oldest historic windmill. Afterwards, swing by the Wywar local brewery.

Journey to the town of Kopčany, a village in western Slovakia near the border of the Czech Republic. Marvel at the monuments of Great Moravia and the Church of St. Margita of Antiochia, the oldest church in Central Europe. Explore the mysterious Castle Korlátko, a fortress which guarded the trade route to the Czech Republic in the 11th century.

Day 2
Start the second day of your tour with a scenic hike up Vápenná, the third highest mountain of the Little Carpathians. Enjoy beautiful panoramic views. Discover the ancient Celtic settlement of Pohanská. Explore the impressive Plavecký Hrad castle, located on a steep hill near the Little Carpathians.

Day 3
Enter Driny cave, the Little Carpathians only cave. Afterward, visit Smolenice, the birthplace of the inventor of the parachute. See Smolenický Castle and take a stroll through its sublime English garden. Visit the mysterious Molpir, a place where the people of Kalnderberg used to live in the 7th century BCE. Taste sweet mead, a beverage which was beloved all over the ancienct world in Eygpt, Greece, Rome, and by the Celts, Slavs, and Germanic tribes.
