What people are saying about Vienna

Fun, interesting ride around central Vienna

This was a three hour ride around central Vienna. The guide stopped at many of the city's significant sites and gave us a great overview of historical Vienna and today's Vienna. Her explanations were both understandable and entertaining. The pace of the ride was easy, and the guide made sure that no one was left behind. Much of the ride was on dedicated bike lanes or where there was little car traffic, so there was never any feeling of being unsafe. It did rain while we were on the tour, but the guide had us take shelter in a little cafe on the Judenplatz where we had hot drinks. Luckily the rain subsided after about 15 minutes and we were on our way. My wife and I agree that this bike tour was a highlight of our time in Vienna.

Great Value day trip with Good Food and service

This proved to be the High-spot of our trip to Venice. It well exceeded our expectations. Breakfast, Lunch and a 4 course evening meal and an afternoon serving of Strudel and an opportunity to experience Bratislava ! The boat is comfortable with good service and help-full staff. It is remarkable value for money and we would thoroughly recommend it. 2 points to note - its a long day 0830 - 2230 but well worth it. The only downside were the English directions to the boat- which are not very clear. You need to get to Nusdorf on the tram/bus and then look for the signs to the MS Kaiserin Elisabeth.

The concert was excellent, our seating was terrible, couldn't see well

The concert itself was excellent., the orchestra, singers and conductor were all very good. Unfortunately, we could hardly see anything from where we were sitting. We were right in the corner behind a statue and had to stand most of the time. Also although the dress code was supposedly a formal/black tie event nearly everyone in there were dressed very casually with jeans and trainers. We could have gone more casually too and not packed extra formal clothes in our suitcases that we didn't need. Just write 'no dress code' so people know, like they do for other concerts I checked out!!

A brilliant day, marvellous food, accompanied in the evening with a musician. As English speakers with limited German we were a bit worried that we wouldn’t get the most out of a German speaking tour, but they translated some of the descriptions into English and we were able to book ahead for an English tour in Bratislava when on the boat. We met a lovely Austrian couple who spoke good English too and so spent the day chatting with them too. Would thoroughly recommend this trip

Fascinating insight into a slice of history

Well paced walking tour with very informed guide (Wolfgang, the day we did it). Gave a real context to the political and economic situation in and around Vienna in the first part of the 20th century, illustrated in some of the places where events occurred. No justification of Hitler, an attempt to explain some of what influenced him/what he took advantage of. Moving to visit the Holocaust Memorial.
