What people are saying about Valencia
I visited Valencia for Christmas as a single tourist and my guide Eduardo made an unforgettable event of it. I was the only customer on that day, but he did not cancel my tour either! Totally private! Many thanks!!! Everything was even better than in the offer. Eduardo took me from my hotel comfortably by car to the wonderful Calatrava center and explained all about the different buildings, showed them from different perspectives. They were closed in the afternoon because of Christmas, but the area has a lot outside, as well. Then we went to the highest building of Valencia, where I was invited to the company rooftop appartment with a nice room, kitchen and a terrace with perfect view. Sunset over the city with different wines and variety of tasty tapas prepared freshly for us by a very kind lady cook. Talking about different life issues in Valencia, continuing at the table in the room with gentle music. By car to hotel + finally a lovely Christmas present as a surprise! Just perfect!!
This tour starts with a personal pick up from your hotel. You then have a walking tour of the Arts and Science centre in Valencia. It is a beautiful complex and the information and amount of time spent at the site was perfect. You are then taken to the 33rd floor rooftop of a building overlooking the centre and the town of Valencia. The views from the rooftop are stunning and as you are there for the evening, you see the view in daylight, experience a sunset and then the lights of Valencia. The tour includes a 10 course tapas dinner paired with beautiful wines. Our guide Nick did an exceptional job of explaining the food and wine which has been paired with it. Food was delicious, wines exceptional. We had so much fun with a great group of people. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Valencia at its best while enjoying great food, wine and company. Of course at the end of the night you are driven back to your hotel or into the city if you want to continue partying.
This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Valencia. I came to the city to present at a conference and stumbled upon this tour while googling things to do. I could not be more glad I chose this experience. Our guides Lara and Eduardo were so kind and welcoming. I came on this tour alone, but I did not feel isolated or awkward at all. They did a great job facilitating conversation, while answering questions and providing just enough context to be interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with them, as they are both very knowledgeable about Valencia and they are very professional. The tour itself was great, you start with a walk around the city and then you move to the rooftop tapas. The view is breathtaking. This tour is perfect whether you're traveling alone or in a group. Sea Saffron treats you like you are family. I have nothing but the utmost respect for them and I highly recommend this if you plan on traveling to Valencia anytime soon. You will not be disappointed.
It is always fantastic to visit the Oceanographic. Alway worth to get repeated!!! The only thing I did not like at all regarding the online booking process was the following: I ordered through Get-your-guide my entrance tickets. I got the PDF-documents for the print-out (I was advised to do so!). We went 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby. Waiting in line to go through the entrance at already 30 degrees in the morning, finally it was our turn and then!!! we got advised that this was no entrance ticket - that we would have to go to the cash point! So we had to stand again in line in order to get our "valid tickets" and after that the second time in line to go through the entrance. In my opinion that online booking process does not make any sense at all as at the end it cost us much more time and inconveniences. That is definitely something I was not happy with at all - but other than that the experience and the great time spent in the Oceanographic is always worth to get repeated.
I enjoyed some very good tours in Madrid and Valencia, but this was to date the best after almost two weeks of traveling in Spain. The City of Arts & Sciences Tour with Rooftop Wine & Tapas was a great way to enjoy a complex worthy of being identified as one of the Great Wonders of the Modern World. The architecture, aesthetics, and engineering feats to make the design happen is a marvelous story in itself. Our guide, Nick Denton, was just the person to tell that story. He's very personable and passionate about what he does. Nick is very knowledgeable on many fronts, which made for an evening of fascinating conversation. The rooftop experience was a wonderful way to continue the evening after our walk, We took aerial photos of the complex, sunsets, and later night-time illumination shots. The tapas were excellently prepared by Andress, and he and Nick provided in-depth knowledge of the food preparations and wines of the evening--a Class Act from beginning to end.
