Well laid out art and full of some art world treasures

As a solo traveler and non-Spanish speaker, I liked how art descriptions were detailed in both English and Spanish and they had a few notable artworks that you wouldn’t expect like a Rothko, Toulouse le trec, Georgia o keef , and monetize to name a few. Be sure and check to see if you want to see is not on exposition somewhere else. A good 3 hours is all you need to see everything and go down to the basement to see their latest exposition. You will not be disappointed. Lastly, you can take pictures and you can drink and take water but not around the artwork.

Comprehensive permanent collection worth seeing, the temp exhibit not.

I very much enjoyed the way the superb permanent collection is arranged. I plan to visit again. I was not keen on the temporary exhibition 'The Illusion of the American Frontier'. I considered it surprisingly weak in depth, in breadth and rather expensive to boot. I noticed that the volume published to go with the exhibit was meaty [though available in Spanish only]. The book is possibly interesting however I believe the exhibit itself should take precedence. I am disappointed.

probably one of my favourite museums in madrid

I rally enjoyed this museum compared to the prado because you just feel totally overwhelmed at the prado with about 4000 pictures and sculptures to see. Whereas at the thyssen i thought with the audioguide it told a complete story of western art describing all the different time periods.

Amazing museum the paintings are realy extraordinary

The museum is not so big but if you are in Madrid you don't have to miss to visit; the collection of paintings is amazing and you must really see it. After you finish the visit you can take a snack at the terasa Thyssen-Bornemisza

Fantastic, user friendly museum, chock full with masterpieces

The soft peach walls sooth the eyes and showcase the art beautifully. Still remains a favorite museum, after at least 10+ visits over 20+years. Wonderful collections
