What people are saying about Teguise
It's a great opportunity to see everything in a day, and also have some really cool experiences such as riding a camel on a traditional farmer seat or tasting traditional wine. However, the tour itself is a little bit hasty. At the volcano restaurant (The Devil), we were not allowed to stick around enough to enjoy a meal, as opposed to the short trip. We did stop at an all-you-can-eat restaurant on our way to Jameos del Agua, which had pretty good food. The guide had a lot of interesting facts to share all the time on the bus, but the sound quality was not great. The guide was also very careful not to leave anyone behind (we stayed behind a couple of times to take more pictures, as we couldn't get enough due to time pressure. The bus ride through the volcanoes was extremely impressive! And so were the heat and gazer experiments we were shown on the top of the volcano. Jameos del Agua was the highlight of this trip in my opinion, and I would do it again just to revisit it! Cool overall!
It was a good trip - could have been better. Some information was given on the coach journey, but I would have liked to hear a lot more. We made a 20 min stop at a restaurant on the way there which I thought was unnecessarily long. In contrast, at the destination itself, which I found really fascinating, everything was terribly hurried, we were rushed from one thing to another to the extent I seriously struggled to have sufficient time to take photgraphs! I would have preferred the time wasted waiting at the restaurant to be spent at the actual volcano! We then visited a wine tasting place. We were given brief info on the coach about wine growing on the island but at the wine tasting place, no info at all, we were given the taster and again hurried along which made me feelit was a bit of a gimmick. The on the way back we had a 20 min stop at the restaurant again! In short, I still rated the trip as good, because it was...but less restaurant, more volcano please!
The guide was extremely professional and knowledgeable. The trip to the park was interesting and worth the price itself. It is a thrill to be standing on a working volcano and especially to see the cooking of the chicken over the heat produced by the volcano. My wife enjoyed her came ride very much. The bus was comfortable and I must commend the driver for her high standards on those roads.
It was very much a whistle stop tour, where we could possibly have enjoyed more time at El Golfo as well as stopping to see the sign at the entrance to Timanfaya. However, the price was good, the coach driver was fantastic and the trip through Timanfaya National Park was truly incredible and worth every penny.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour in Lanzarote. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave the information in an easy to understand way. This island is unlike anything I have ever been to before. The landscape although bleak at times had a beauty all of its own. A definite just do tour when you visit Lanzarote.
