Uppsala Cathedral (visit)
During this tour, you will visit several Viking sites along the way:
Broby bro - one of Sweden’s most famous burial grounds. Learn about and visit some mighty Viking burials sites, both a pagan one and an early Christan one from the transition period between Christianity and old Norse religion. Learn about Estrid, a mighty Viking woman.
Jarlabanki's bridge - a partly reconstructed Viking bridge.
Arkil Assembly site - a Viking Parliament. This stop focuses on Viking laws, on the construction of kinc groups and the use of that as a base in Viking society. Hear how the disputes could be settled in Sweden's history.
Sigtuna - the oldest town in Sweden (guided city walk is included). Visit the beautiful wooden town of Sigtuna, known as a place for Swedes to go on weekend vacations and well-known as the oldest city in Sweden. Walk among several different medieval church ruins and visit the local museum.
Old Uppsala and Vendel Era grave mounds - Visit the king's mounds at Old Uppsala dating back 200 years before the Viking age. This is one of Swedens most important historical eras. Visit the former medieval Cathedral at the sight and walk among the 11-meter high grave mounds. The guide will tell you all about its rich and long history.
City of Uppsala - Take a walk around the biggest church of all the Nordic countries: The Uppsala Cathedral. Sneak inside Museum Gustavianum for a while before heading back to Stockholm.
