This former imperial residence was a home to Peter I, who was the founder of St. Petersburg. The Lower garden is not a only a nice and relaxing place for walking but also a great fountain park with some old pavilions dating back to the beginning of the 18th century. Your day outside the city center will continue with a drive towards Catherine palace. Before you will be able to see imposing interiors of the palace with the famous Amber Hall, you’ll have a traditional Russian lunch nearby. Your suburban trip will end with a panoramic drive back to the city. On the way to the city you will have an opportunity to visit one of the oldest metro stations and admire it superb design. One of the other tour highlights will be a visit to the Church on the Spilled Blood, which retains great original mosaic pieces covering its interiors and exteriors. The final stop on this day will be on the smallest island in St. Petersburg where St Peter and Paul fortress is located. There you will get inside St. Peter and Paul Cathedral to see a richly decorated iconostasis and tombs of the Russian royal family. Afterwards you will be brought back to the port

The good start of the second day will ensure a boat ride along rivers and canals which helps you to see the city under a different angle. You will go under the draw bridges which our city is famous for and see former mansions lining along the embankments. After this short trip you will get inside the Hermitage where your guide will show you the best masterpieces of the collection and make distant history come alive for you. One of the main highlights of the collection is the Peacock clock which unusual mechanism puts in motion all its figures. After having traditional Russian lunch you will see interiors of Yusupov palace which once belonged to the wealthiest families in the country.
