What people are saying about St Andrews
My husband and I had so much fun on this trip. Because he's a golfer he was especially excited to visit St. Andrews. But we also got to golf a 9 hold putting green that was as much fun for me as it was for him. We met some great people there, had fish and chips at a cute little restaurant, walked around and explored, and really just had the time of our lives. Our guide on the bus was interesting and entertaining. Really, the whole trip was just what I hoped it would be!
Richard had a wealth of knowledge and obviously knew his subject in depth. The Ghost tour was mixed in with mostly the history and events of the Old Town of St Andrews around the site of the Cathedral/precint walls and Bishops Palace (Castle) and was very interesting and at times eerie. Thanks Richard really enjoyed the tour and certainly would not hesitate to recommend to others who are thinking of booking a tour. Tour also reasonably priced and good value!!
The guide was good, but be aware that because of the arts festival we were let off at a different location. The guide seemed to think it was a good location. I should have asked for better directions, it took a long time to get back to my hotel when it only took me five minutes to get to the pick up point.
Tour guide, David, was very knowledgeable about the area. Nice stopover in fishing village. Adequate time to visit St. Andrews. Not rushed. Plenty of time to see highlights and have leisurely lunch. Last stop at castle for 5 minutes was not worthwhile. Would have liked 30 - 45 minutes there.
Richard our guide was excellent. I think a tour option to only St Andrews would be ideal, to allow more time in the town. The other 2 stops were nice, but took away from the time allotted time to spend in St Andrews, which is why most people booked the tour.
