What people are saying about Sorrento

Full day boat trip to Capri from Sorrento

We got picked up from our hotel promptly on the day (got a confirmation e-mail the day before) and driven to Marina Grande, where we got checked in and boarded our boat - 18 footer. It was 12 of us altogether. Our skipper Marino was great and provided commentary throughout the trip which started with a visit to Grotta Azura where we had to wait for a bout 30-40 minutes because of congestion, but it was an amazing experience once we got inside the cave. Then we got to Capri for 3.5 of sightseeing (company can arrange transport for those who wish). In the afternoon we completed our tour around the island and saw the ret of the grottoes, swam in the crystal waters, and enjoyed complimentary drinks (soft+beer), snacks, champagne and limoncello, before returning to Sorrento. They also provide towels and packed lunch (tomato and mozzarella ciabatta). A most enjoyable trip.

Great option to see Positano and Amalfi.

This was a great tour. Picks you right up in sorrento. Be prepared some of the pickup locations serve many different tours, so make sure to pay attention to which bus you’re getting on. They do a good job checking everyone in and made extra effort to have everyone. Then you are driven by bus about 45 minutes to Nerano port then depart for Amalfi first and Positano second. Maria was great on the bus telling us about each stop and good plans for spending your time. She headed to Capri with the other tour but we had Carolina on the boat to guide us. They did well to show you everything as you boat by. The boat is a great way to see the towns as you approach. Plenty of time was given in each port and chance to explore the towns.

Fully packed tour is a great introduction to the Amalfi Coast

This bus tour was perfect if you have a full-day to visit. We weren't staying at a hotel, but the tour organizers arranged to have us picked up at a convenient bus stop. The ride was entertaining with our funny tour guide. Of the three of us in our group, two were newbies and this was my second visit to the Amalfi Coast. We all learned something and enjoyed the tour. The optional boat tour (extra cost) is definitely worth the price. There was plenty of time to explore on your own also at your pace. Oh and the winding roads are like a rollercoaster. It's better to have a professional bus driver than renting your own car and trying to navigate the narrow roads/fast vehicles. We highly recommend this tour.

Well organised and entertaining despite terrible weather.

The bus was on time to meet me in Sorrento. Our guide - i think his name was Roberto - was absolutely hilarious. When he wasn't fawning over the driver ("my husband") he was telling the men they must kiss their wives, or telling us stories and jokes about the rich and famous that fly into their villas on the Amalfi coast. Roberto's "commentary" was more like a cabaret performance than a tour guide! Despite the weather, i enjoyed my one hour at Positano, 2 hrs at Amalfi and 1hr at Ravello. It's very touristy, of course, with cars crammed along the narrow roads and hordes of people in every village. Roberto always had a way to keep us entertained during the traffic jams. Overall a great day out.

A great taste of the Amalfi but marred by the traffic

A big thank you to Vincenzo for his excellent linguistic skills, informative and entertaining commentary, and to Salvatore for his superlative driving skills. Both maintained their good humour throughout, in spite of the many bottlenecks on the journey. Far too much time spent on the coach which robbed us of valuable time at Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Would have loved a little longer at each stop to explore a bit more leisurely. Clearly not the fault of our guides and it must have been just as frustrating for them. All in all, a memorable trip which gave us a flavour of some beautiful areas.
