What people are saying about Sintra

So glad we got tickets to skip the line -- it was mobbed

It's important to get skip the line tickets, especially during the high tourist season. My second piece of advice is to go early in the morning -- there were a lot of hills and the line of cars/buses to get up to the palace moved very slowly as we didn't go until mid-day. But it was worth it -- a beautiful fairly-tale like castle

Another visit made easy by buying online GYG tickets

We used our tickets to visit this palace much later in the day when the crowds had dispersed which made for a much more enjoyable time, the palace is open until 19.00hrs (please check, there may be seasonal variations!) so visiting at 16.00 hrs allows ample time and there are frequent trains back to Lisbon late into the evening.

We got there very early so queues no issue - wonderful place

The queues get massive almost immediately. Parking is challenging but fine if early. The palace is unbelievable - one of the most stunning places I have visited. Be prepared for loads of walking up and down hills if you want to see the gardens. Worth every euro - brilliant place to visit.

Excelent opportunity to visit great places in one day!

In general tour is very good, driver/guide is very friendly, kind and sympatic young Manuel. We would extend time we spend in Sintra old town in exchange for not so necessary photo opportunity of Pena palace. Quinta de Regaleria is a true jewel of Sintra and we highly recommend it.

A good day out made easy by using GYG tickets

Definitely worth buying tickets beforehand, queues for this popular destination are considerable, I suggest using the online tickets as early in the day as possible and visiting the palace interiors first. Then spending time outside not forgetting the lovely park.
