Full description
Time to step into the kitchen and get to know Singapore through the iconic local dishes. Have a hands-on cooking experience to learn how to make the popular Singaporean dishes of chili crab sauce and pandan chiffon cake and the sweet snacks of pineapple tarts and ondeh-ondeh, which is a soft chewy Asian dessert.

Begin with the Pandan chiffon cake, Singapore's most loved cake. It has been touted as one of the world's best cakes. The pandan gives it a beautiful fragrance and its signature green hue. The chef will demonstrate how to put the cake together and you will learn this method.  Next up is the chili crab sauce, with a twist. Beer is widely used as an ingredient to whip up yummy dishes and you will learn how to use it to enhance the sauce for your dish of crabmeat on a bed of salad.

Get hands-on with the next recipe, pineapple tarts. These are widely savored during the festive season of as Chinese New Year because pineapple in Mandarin means 'bringing good fortune'. Finally, make ondeh-ondeh from scratch. The popular Asian dessert is soft and chewy thanks to the sweet potato and glutinous rice flour that it is made with. It is filled with gula melaka, palm sugar, and covered with desiccated coconut. This authentic recipe is fuss-free and can be done in a short time. After the cooking and eating, enjoy a teatime break with a refreshing drink.
