Full description
Chianti. This wine results from the wise blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and originates from the hilly area from which it draws its name. Expert and witty tour leaders will lead you to the discovery of the breathtaking, uncontaminated landscapes that have been cradling the Chianti vineyards for centuries, presenting you with a harmony of colors that can only be found in the hills of this region.
You'll enjoy wine tasting at vineyards featured in the best specialised magazines, such as Wine Spectator and Decanter. During each visit, you will have the opportunity to follow a detailed description of the different steps required for the production of wine: your journey through taste will start from the vineyard, with illustrations of the growth and development of the vines and will lead to the cellar, where the product undergoes processing, fermentation and bottling.

The sounds, scents and flavors of this land will capture your senses through a unique experience that you will live, relish and comprehend by visiting ancient churches, medieval castles and small villages where the rhythm of life remains unaltered over time. Enjoy exploring the fantastic scenery and you'll soon find yourself appreciating the century-old traditions.

Our driver was both very knowledgeable and fun. We visited two beautiful wineries and one medieval village. I wouldn't really call it a "castle tour" because we did not tour any castles. But it was a thoroughly enjoyable day in spectacular countryside. The rolling hills, the beautiful Tuscan weather (we went in February -- no crowds, beautiful bright blue skies, perfect) and one winery in particular that has been operated by one family for many generations. The settings were gorgeous.

A rocky start but a great finish.

I highly recommend that you confirm your pickup spot before your tour. We had a mixup and didn't get started until at least 40 minutes after the designated start time. But once we got started, we had a great tour! Wonderful wineries, great tastings, a couple of castles and some interesting people. I recommend this tour and this company, with my warning about pickup spot.

Fun filled day with a great tour guide

Wineries, Castle/fortress and town visited were all interesting as well as the countryside we drove through. We had a great tour guide named Chiro who certainly added a lot of cheerio to the day. Not an overly expensive tour which lasted just over 5 hours. Driving in Italy is a challenge so it was great to sit and let a local navigate the windy roads.
