Full description
• Day 1

After convenient pickup from your hotel, head to a church that's dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God just outside the traditional village of Akrotiri, where your hiking adventure begins. Set off along a trail that showcases incomparable views of both sides of the island, in and out of the immense caldera for which Santorini is known. This scenic hike leads you to the idyllic beach of Mesa Pigadia, where your kayak tour will depart from. After a short briefing, start paddling along the coastline admiring beautiful rock formations and cave houses built into the cliffs. Reach the Black Mountain and Akrotiri Lighthouse, exploring sea caves along the way.

Enjoy a fresh, nutritious snack at a traditional tavern on Kambia Beach, and go snorkeling from the beach. Back in your kayak, paddle to the famous Red Beach and marvel at the colors — vivid evidence of volcanic activity. Kayak back to Mesa Pigadia and change into your dry clothes. You will then be welcomed by our talented chef who will show you the secrets of traditional Grecian cooking. Join her in a cooking lesson and help prepare a variety of lovely dishes all bursting with flavor. After enjoying a delicious homemade meal, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

• Day 2

After pickup at your hotel, you’ll be brought to the Dive Station for a morning of scuba diving.

If you are a non-certified diver:
First, you will receive a lesson from a qualified instructor covering a little physics, physiology, and underwater communication. You’ll learn how to operate the scuba gear, then suit up and walk straight into the sea. In water shallow enough to stand in, you’ll perform some simple exercises, after which you will practice breathing underwater. Then you’ll go out in deeper water where you won’t touch bottom anymore. If you feel comfortable, you’ll swim underwater to a reef at a depth of 20–23 feet.

If you are a certified diver:
You will receive 1 full tank of oxygen and board a spacious boat that will bring you to different diving sites. The chosen sites depend on the weather, generally consisting of 1 dive at the volcanic islands, Nea (“New”) Kameni and Palea (“Old”) Kameni, and 1 dive at the cliffs of the caldera. The dive sites around the new and old volcano offer beautiful lava formations and marine life such as lobsters, moray eels, ands clams hiding among the lava rocks. You might also be able to spot the wreck of a small passenger ship in the bay of the New Kameni. The dive site at the cliffs of the caldera offer a variety of colorful sponges, nudibranchs, groupers, snappers, and barracuda. All dives are guided by qualified instructors.

Once back to the shore, have a shower and change into your dry clothes before sitting down to a traditional Greek lunch at a local tavern.
