The communication before hand was good and the pick-up was very prompt. Joseph, the guide, and Willy, the driver, were both friendly and helpful. They make an excellent team. In addition to giving good information, Joseph took many pictures of the group. We stopped for about 20 minutes on the way to feed llamas, get a beverage, and use the restroom. Once we arrived in Valparaiso, we made a stop to enjoy the view before getting out and taking a long walk through the streets and stairs of Valparaiso. The street art was amazing! Following the walk, we took the funicular down and made several more stops before returning to Santiago: to take a picture at the flower clock, at a museum to see a statue from Easter Island, and then for lunch at a restaurant across the street from the Pacific. We noted the tour from beginning to end..
Exellent 10 hour day trip with a great guide Daniel and Claudio the driver. This trip covers additional sjghts than the cheaper day trips including the fish market (an experience in itself), sea lions and pelicans, finishing the day wine tasting in the Casablanca vineyards Daniel was very entertaining and amusing, and explained the local geology and the reasons behind the current political unrest and demonstrations and rioting. Highlights for us were the murals of Valporaiso during our walking tour, the elevator ride and the street dogs, most of which he knew by name, the fish market and the wine tasting. The Company running this trip is Stamp's Tour. Getyourguide is an Agent.
The bus arrived on time for the pick-up and the tour of Valparaiso (“Valpo” according to our guide, as the Chileans will shorten anything they can) was interesting - particularly the street art. You do need to be able to walk down steps for this part of the tour. Unfortunately, 2 members of the group went AWOL (no fault of the guide), so we lost some time waiting for them and our tour of Vina was somewhat curtailed. Our driver also had to take a diversion on the way back to avoid the road closures in Santiago.
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Romi and driver who went out of their way to make sure the day was a success. Both Romi and driver were more than flexible, altering the tour to suit the group based on a consensual decision. Romi has an excellent command of English, great sense of humour and very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour, Romi and our driver (whose name escapes me).
I really enjoyed the tour! It is worth taking it. However I was really disappointed by the the fact that despite the fact I received a confirmation for my booking after waiting for more that an hour I contacted the local agent to find out that apparently they either forgot me or never received my booking...
