Full description
Start near the “golden fire hydrant” that quelled the flames started by the 1906 earthquake. From there, embark on a historic walk through the Mission neighborhood which is generally considered the historic foundation point of the city.

From the graves of Native Americans in the Mission Dolores Cemetery to the oldest residential buildings, investigate the earliest days of San Francisco and how Spanish-speaking culture still flourishes here in new and surprising ways. Moving into the modern part of the neighborhood, enjoy its rich culture of politically-themed street art as you see murals by famous artists. End at Clarion Alley, an open-air art gallery, but not before sharing one of the most famous spots to get a burrito just a few blocks away.
