Well planned , Highlight of my Trip , excellent

Did the one day trip to Salzburg with Ton and Lisa the guide @ Salzburg. We were picked up @ 7:30 in the morning by Ton a friendly driver and guide and host , the vehicle was a comfortable Mercedes Mini Van , our first stop for a toilet break and coffee was at the most awesome restaurant which I will never forgot , the views and scenery through the trip is breathtaking and Ton keeps you entertained with the live commentary , he makes the trip so much more interesting and revitting with his stories that you’ll never be bored or even feel the 3 hrs in the van . On arrival @ Salzburg we were met by Lisa (guide) who is a patient and knowledge person who is passionate about her city , she took the time to explain and answer all the questions that was directed to her . Overall it was a day well spent and will encourage anyone to do this tour , it’s s must if you visiting Vienna . At first I was hesitant about the long day but it was well planned by The your Tour company . From me

Great experience; but despite fresh snow it was on wheels, not runners

We stayed on a small country road for the entire ride. It was snowing during our tour, and with the wind it was cold. We had two thick fleece blankets that were warm and covered my and my wife's lower torso. We were glad we had down jackets with hoods. There was about 12 inches of accumulated snow in the fields but the country road was regularly plowed, so it seems as if the snow would not ever build up enough to use the runners instead of the wheels. We never used the runners, since Joseph said there wasn't enough snow on the road. That said, it was still a nice ride and I'm not sure we could really tell that we were rolling instead of sliding along our journey. In reading reviews of this and other tour operators, I couldn't tell if anyone does sleigh rides on the runners unless there is a lot of fresh (unplowed) snow. The pickup and drop-off service was punctual and the vehicle (a Mercedes sedan) was new. That was a nice touch.

Even though there was no snow, it was aan experience to remember.

From the time we were picked up at our hotel by CARLOS in a luxury black Mercedes limo, till we were treated to a personal guided tour of the area on the way to our activity where we were introduced to our host who explained that unfortunately there was no snow but the sleigh was also fitted with wheels, so we could still tour the countryside. The sleigh was pulled by two magnificent black Hungarian horses. After the ride we were taken into our hosts house and treated to a warm hot chocolate. Carlos then returned us to Salzburg by a different route showing us another perspective of life there. A truly wonderful experience even without snow.

A great way to experience the city in a short time

This tour was so convenient and it took us to places that were close to all of the main sites in the city. 45 minutes between buses allowed us enough time at most stops to take a look around and enjoy the scenary before moving on to the next location. Heidi was also very understanding when my bus ticket blew away and made sure I was still able to continue on with the day. If you don't particularly like being shuffled around constantly on guided tours and would rather see things at your own pace this is definitely a great option.

I regret that there are no free walking tours available in Salzburg.

Although we enjoyed the tour, as the city is incredible and you can't help but be mesmerized, waiting for the guide to give the German version at every stop was exhausting and time consuming. We were on many other cities in Europe that offered free tours which we enjoyed much more. It seems the guides try much harder as they know what they will get pretty much depends on the kind of job they do. It would be worth considering this option in Salzburg.
