Full description
Your experience will begin with you touring the Monasterio de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, Cartuja. Built on the grounds of a beautiful Arab farm, few places in Granada manage to surprise their visitors with this much. As soon as you go through the main door, you will be beginning a journey through different artistic styles, discovering in the process the life and customs of this community of monks which lived at this site until 1835. You will also be able to take delight unveiling the impressive treasures hidden inside their walls.
You will continue your route crossing the Calle Gran Vía de Colón, following the Calle Cárcel Baja on the way to the Catedral de Granada. The arrival of the Reyes Católicos in the last Arab bastion of the Iberian Peninsula meant a dramatic change in the model of the city. The Catedral Renacentista de Granada is a chant to grandiosity where the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical are mixed; displaying the new institutional, political, and religious power.
You will then travel down Calle Oficios to enter the Capilla Real. Chosen by the Reyes Católicos as their last dwelling, this temple stands as a symbol of the restoration of the Granada church, showing the great wealth of its artistic heritage and nourishing its spirit with its transcendent sense and beauty. At the conclusion of your route, you will enjoy a refreshment accompanied by one of the famous tapas from Granada.
