What people are saying about Rome
This was an excellent show! It's a little out of the way so we took a taxi to get there, and even the taxi driver didn't seem entirely sure of the location. The show staff were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. They provided cheap and delicious hamburgers and beer, as well as mosquito repellent swabs, which were essential - be warned! There was a vivid presentation on gladiator weaponry and we were treated to a taste of Roman wine. The show itself was varied, excellently narrated, interspersing realistic gladiator fights with comedy and dancing. There was time for photos afterwards, a great hit with the kids. Finally, one of the staff drove us home for a reasonable flat fare of 15 euros, expounding to us about Roman history and culture along the way and rounding off a very memorable night.
Our tour with Stefania was incredible; the “off the beaten path” side of Rome and the Italian art nouveau are real treasure, a must see for anyone, interested in early to mid 20th century Italian and European art and architecture. What made the tour even more enjoyable, was the intellectually stimulating conversation with Stefania, whose warmth, kindness, and knowledge of Italian, and European history and culture made the tour truly the unforgettable event.
Good show and explanation of the gladiators history. The glass of wine was more than welcome! I was expecting more fights and mind blowing choreography with special effects but I feel that the show cover the basics so if u are in a group of friends and curious or fans about the gladiators fights go.
A wonderful way to spend an evening in Rome and hear a little of its history and one of its great masters. We enjoyed the interaction between ourselves and our guide. Having done the tourist things before this was the highlight of our break this time. Would thoroughly recommend doing this.
Chronological explanation of Caravaggio's life visiting the locations and the background of his paintings including lost ones made me feel his life in Rome more closely. The setting for wine was beautiful and the taste of wine was authentic from Lazio, which had minerals.
