Sorrento Escape Express: 2 Days & 1 Night

Spend an enjoyable 2 days on an excursion to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and the Isle of Capri from Rome. Explore the historical center of Naples, tour the ruins of the Pompeii archeological site, and visit the enchanting Isle of Capri and its Blue Grotto.

Day 1: From Rome to Naples, Pompeii, and Sorrento
Depart from the local partner's office at 7.15 AM for the trip to Naples by coach with a multilingual tour leader.

In Naples your local guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical center to admire the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I, and the San Carlo Opera House.

From Naples, the tour continues to Pompeii with a brief stop at a coral and cameo factory en route. Enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant, followed by a visit to the excavations of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvio in 79 B.C. and buried under 4 to 6 meters of ash and stones.

Next, you’ll head to Sorrento, a charming town on the Sorrentine Peninsula, well known for the cultivation of oranges, lemons, and olives. Enjoy dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 2: Sorrento, Capri, and Return to Rome
After an American buffet breakfast at the hotel, you’ll depart at 08:00 for the island of Capri by ferry, arriving in Marina Grande.

Once you’ve arrived you’ll visit the Blue Grotto (weather permitting), the Augustus Gardens, and stop at the famous Piazzetta. A minibus will take you up to Anacapri, where you’ll enjoy lunch. Afterwards you’ll return to Marina Grande to board the ferry for the return trip.

Back in Sorrento, you’ll have the choice of staying overnight again (at your own expense) or returning to Rome by coach. You’ll arrive in Rome at around 9 PM.
