The bus tour became 'A legendary one man show!'

Our first driver did not use the recorded guide. He did it live! He did it with style! He did it with PASSION! He made the journey through the streets of Dublin secondary to his amazing, interesting and factual repartee. His amusing asides were second to none...e.g., a fire tender was coming up behind, siren sounding. 'Oh no, there is a fire tender coming up behind' he said, 'This is bad. I think the might have spotted me...My first wife ran off wife a fireman...Well, I'm not stopping. They might want to give her back!'...BRILLIANT!! Alas for us, he came to the end of his shift and the next driver was just that...a driver. Sure he was safe. He was courteous. But he was just...well 'workman like'

Efficient and informative way to navigate and see the sights.

We had a long layover in Dublin and used the Hop On-Hop Off to get an overview of the sights. The bus stops were easy to find, and buses generally stopped every 20 minutes or so. In only one case was seating an issue, and we chose to wait for the next bus which appeared within 5 minutes. Guides/Drivers were personable and humorous. We booked the 3-day ticket online ahead of time. We were not aware of the 1 or 2 day options, which may have been better for our situation.

Jeanie Johnston Tall Ship emigration experience a MUST!

We absolutely loved this authentic tour - the reproduction of the real ship down to the smallest detail was amazing and our guide gave a riveting accounting of what life was like for the emigrants on the ship. Lifelike mannequins, cooking utensils, books, etc. added to the experience. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in understanding more about the wave of departures of Irish to US, Canada and Australia following the Great Hunger (Potato Famine) in mid 1800's.

The tour was amazing, and the guide kept us up to date on surroundings

I really enjoyed how the tour guide was always telling us about our surrounding, and kept us laughing! He also spoke multiple languages, and helped everyone on board get to the next stop, and back on the bus right on schedule! Also the driver could not have been more skilled! Those roads would have been hard to navigate alone if you aren’t used to it! Kevin and Brian did awesome!

A great introduction to Dublin before we explored the city

Our driver for the first part of our trip was Andrew. We was funny, informative, helpful and entertaining. The final leg of the tour was done when it was dark and the town was glowing with Christmas lights. Very pretty to see, but for sightseeing the earlier you start the day the better.
