What people are saying about Porto Cristo
We were very nicely picked up by a small bus, transported to a bigger bus with which we went to see the Mallorica pearl factory. It wasn't really the factory, but the exhibition. They showed us how they were made, and then we had to walk to their shop. This was all over with in half an hour. The caves were definitely the highlight, really nice maintained, impressively lighted, very nice. We were even allowed to take pictures. It was very short though, in less than an hour we were outside. The concert on the lake was absolutely amazing, and it should have been much more expanded. The concert was literally ten minutes, afterwards we had to go outside because the bus was leaving. It was all fine or great, but it would have been really nice if they allowed us a little more time. The pickup service was perfect though.
The caves didn't make huge impress for us because we have seen few in other countries. However the lake under the cave and the concert were impressive. Besides, it took quite long to wait for boat, because we wonted to take a sail, however the way was really shot - it event didn't take a 5 min. So as entertainment it was nice, however we waited about 25 min to sail approximately few hundred metres on lake. It would be really nice to have a longer sail :)
I paid for a full day guide and apparently i had to settle for a half day due to where the bus would need to pick me up, however i feel as though they could've solved the confusion by letting you know up front when you enter your hotel BEFORE you pay.
Most emotional in this tour was the concert, which we observed sitting in the wide caves hall when musicians in boats appeared from several sides of nice lighted caves. Very impressive was our going to a drive bay boat around the lake as well.
The pearl factory visit was an excuse to trap tourists in an overpriced jewellery and leather goods shop. A tiny factory facsimile is all that exists. Caves of Drach were excellent though very busy!
