I booked e bike hire via the app for our trip to Rome, I usually buy tickets direct from the shop/attraction but it was cheaper through GetYourGuide. We were happy with the email confirmation and had no issue exchanging it for our bikes in the bike shop which was my only concern. The guys in the shop were great and showed us the set up of the bikes and how they worked. I’m not a cyclist at all, I don’t own a bike, but my husband is and the e bikes seemed a good compromise. They are definitely needed on the hills in Rome. The experience itself was AMAZING, and we covered so much more of Rome than on foot or transport, it is an experience I’d definitely do again and I’d recommend it as a must to anyone thinking about it. I can’t express how great it was cycling round the colosseum, they close many roads on a Sunday so that’s a good day to hire them, although next time we will have them our whole trip not just one day. Better life was great on them and so easy and fun. Defiantly try it!!!

A perfect way to tour Rome, if you can handle Italian traffic...

As an Amsterdammer, not having a bike to travel in any city would be a handicap. Rome, however, is a bit of a challenge, since it has in abundance that which we generally ignore back home - topography. Hills. A 3D landscape. The musculature to negotiate these is not something I've had the opportunity to develop in 2D Netherlands. An E-bike, thus, provides that extra assistance, a push up them hills. Rome also adds another challenge that we've largely forgotten about in A'dam: motorised traffic. There are lots of cars, mopeds and motorbikes. These can be intimidating at times, but I found out that Roman drivers are not unlike a self-organising network in which each node communicates with its neighbours to produce emergent order. In other words: maintain eye contact with other drivers, take initiative in moderation, and all will be well. Staff at the shop were very friendly and nice, did not try to push any extras at us, and I will gladly return next time I visit the eternal city.

Our experience with Louisa as our guide was spectular!

Our experience with Louisa as our guide was spectular! She arrived on time and the car was clean. She gave us a history lesson while we travelled. We had a wonderful day not having to be herded onto a bus. Louisa suggested a wonderful place for us to have an afternoon snack and a glass of wine. We hit all the main attractions. And were back to our cruse ship on time. This excursion was the highlight of our 7 day cruise...Thanks to Louisa!

the tour guide was incredible. our cruise was to 5 ports and of the five other excursions and tours we went to this one was by far the best hand down by 1,000 percent. Laura was incredible, I cant wait to come back to Rome just to be able to hire them again to tour more spots. highly recommended over and over again!

We’ve never been on e-bikes before and the shop is right on a main street. I was able to ride with ease, but we had a teen with us who had nowhere to practice on the bike to get used to it. They’re rather like mopeds, so if you’ve got teens that have never driven, it would be best to walk.
