Full description
Climb aboard a high speed TGV train from Paris to Avignon for a full-day tour of the lavender fields of Provence.

Pass the beautiful landscapes of Burgundy and the Rhone Valley en route to Avignon, where, on arrival you will be transfered to the Palais des Papes (Popes’ Palace), one of the biggest gothic palaces in Europe.

Explore the fascinating building with the help of an audio guide, and learn the history of how Avignon became the “City of Popes.” Then, enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace, including time to find a spot for lunch (own expense).

Next, travel by coach or minivan through the hilltop villages of Luberon. Navigate the stunning mountain roads en route to the village of Roussillon in the heart of the north valley. Gaze in wonder at the ochre cliffs, before going to the Plateau de Sault, known as the lavender capital for its cultivation of the plant.

See vast lavender fields from the panoramic Gordes viewpoint, perched on a rock village. Learn more about the lavender industry at the Lavender Museum in Coustellet. Discover the secrets of the symbol of Provence, through collections of lavender materials and essential oils of lavender.
