The Waterfall was gorgeous. I recommend you book a tour to see it. We were frustrated with our guide's inability to keep our group together and efficiently show us & tell us about the sights. Upon arrival we wasted time waiting for another group to join us, then we wasted time standing inside a hot Berber house waiting for the guide to Finally speak to us, then when we arrived at the waterfalls we were given less than 30 minutes to enjoy the falls. He told us to start walking up the hill where we were expected to "sit" at a restaurant for approximately 45 mins to 1 hour. Our guide never gave us a specific meeting point or time during the entire day. We just followed him like little ducklings. Had the guide given us 2 hours at the waterfall and a meeting point for departure to the bus, we could have spent our time at the Waterfall at our leisure instead of worrying that our Guide was going to leave us at any point in time.
This tour did not disappoint! We were given the meet up point the day before and picked up bang on time. The bus had great air con and the journey was really comfortable. There was a break in the middle to go to the toilet as well. The tour itself was amazing. Our guide was so funny and had a lot of knowledge about the area and the waterfalls. There was an opportunity to swim in the water and we also got a boat ride into the waterfall itself too which was amazing. Lunch was not provided but was a very reasonable price. Overall the tour was a fantastic experience and i would highly recommend it. The only thing to be wary of is that it involves a lot of walking so bring sensible shoes/be aware if you’re not particularly fit or mobile.
Overall this was a great day and it was well worth the long journey. Once we reached there we were met by our charismatic and charming guide Ibrahim who just made us all feel so relaxed and was extremely knowledgable and compassionate and ensured through out the time he was with us we were all ok and made sure we all got ample time and opportunity to take pictures and feed the monkeys. Definitely recommend anyone visiting Morocco to visit the falls if you can.
The waterfalls were great and well worth the visit. Bit of an extra trek to see the monkeys but not all that far and easily reached. The guide was good but not sure it is necessary to use one to get best out of the trip aside from giving the safety in knowing you will be back at your bus at the right time. The minibus might have had suspension at some point but that seemed to have long gone and one of the seatbelts was broken.
My friend and I pre-booked this tour and had an amazing time. Yusef was very patient and good at explaining the history of Morocco and it’s culture. We later went on the boat which takes you right up against the waterfalls and got drenched but it’s all part of the experience. I’d definitely recommend this tour, there’s chance to see the monkeys towards the end of the tour too!
