Full description
After pickup from your hotel or riad, you’ll head straight to to Essaouira, real-life Astapor, the famous city where Khaleesi first pronounced “Dracarys.” Visit many places where scenes set in Astapor were filmed, including the walk of punishment. Essaouira itself, a calm, high-walled city on the Atlantic coast, will charm you with its wondrous medina and artistic vibe. See the ruins that inspired Jimi Hendrix to write his famous song “Castle Made of Sand,” before heading for dinner in a local restaurant, and settling down for a night in a riad in the medina.

After breakfast, you’ll head out to Ouarzazate through the stunning Tizi n’Tichka pass, located in the High Atlas mountains. Gaze out over the mountain vistas into the lush valleys below. Explore the Oasis of Fint, which served as the shooting location for Pentos in the show, where the unsullied walked alongside Sir Barristan and Sir Jorah. Afterwards, head to a guesthouse in Ouarzazate owned by a Berber family for dinner, accompanied by traditional dancing and music.

The next morning, you’ll head back towards Marrakech through Aït Ben Haddou, where scenes in the city of Yunkai were filmed. Explore the centuries-old Kasbah, which has been home to many movies over the years, including “Lawrence of Arabia.” Wander the narrow, historical streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, famed for its traditional red-clay buildings. At the end of the afternoon, you’ll head back to your accommodation in Marrakech.
