Immerse yourself in the most trying time in American history on an in-depth, multi-sensory tour of the beginnings of the Civil War in and around the US capital. After pickup from hotel in Washington, DC, you’ll head to the historic Willard Hotel, whose history dates back to 1816. On your way to the White House, you’ll see the statue of William Tecumseh Sherman (The "Scourge of the South”), the Treasury Building, the War Department headquarters, multiple civil war sites, and more.

After viewing the White House through the lens of the civil war battles fought in and around DC, you’ll escape the capital’s hustle and bustle, bound for the Arlington National Cemetery. See the home of Robert E. Lee, alongside the graves of such Civil War notables as Robert Todd Lincoln, Abner Doubleday, and more. After a quick break for a local lunch, you’ll head to the site of the first major conflict in the civil war: Manassas National Battlefield Park, where the first battle of Bull Run was fought.

Along the banks of a sleepy creek, 2 untested armies would clash on July 21st, 1861, resulting in the largest battle in North American history to date. Explore the hallowed ground with your expert guide, learning firsthand the trials and tribulations of the Union and Confederate forces. Explore Henry House Hill, Sudley Springs Ford, The Old Stone House, and Stone Bridge — among other sites with innumerable historical significance.
