What people are saying about Malaga
The pick-up was on time & our car was fully booked (8 people). The driver made a 30min stop on the way at a restaurant which was too long. The drop-off in Granada was close to the old town but 1 hour 15 min is too short to do much (other than lunch). For the tour in Alhambra you get another guide (ours was Enrique). He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I only found it a bit inconvenient that he had to do the tour in 2 languages - therefore explanations took twice as long and you had less time for photos etc. Overall the time within Alhambra felt quite short. Our tour lasted 2.45 hours and quite a bit of it was walking from one end to another. A bit more time here and there would have been much appreciated. After Alhambra, the driver drove us straight back to Malaga without going to the viewpoint that other tours visit. We had some traffic on the way back but still arrived after just 8.5 hours (way short of 10). For that I found the price to be too expensive.
took a 15-persons 10-hour tour from malaga in small van. spanish driver drove us to granada where patricia awaited us. everything was on time and well organized. the only flaw was that the intercom system that patricia used suffered from a lot of interference from other groups using the same radio channels (3 million visitors per year ..). as a result the connection was frequently lost so we couldn't hear half of what she was saying. in addition, her poor english accent (she is spanish) didn't help either. nevertheless, the sights were truly mazing, hence the 4 stars rating.
I went to excursion on 15th of May, 2019 and I liked it very much. Weather was sunny and warm. Guide was very welcoming, she spoke in a clear and understandable manner. She told us some interesting facts not only about Caminito del Rey itself, but also about local fauna. At the end of our walk, we had freshly made, natural juices (you could choose - strawberry, lemon or pineapple flavour), which was a nice ending of maybe not the easiest, but most definitely rewarding walk. Overall I had only positive feeling & memories.
It was great to get to the destination so quickly from Malaga with the minimum of fuss. The guides were helpful and knowledgeable. The Caminito is so overwhelming that a little more time to stare would have been welcome but I understand that each tour group needs to move quite briskly. Overall, a fantastic day!
Well worth the visit, including the long drive. Spain is making efforts at better mobility access, but there are financial, architectural, and historic constraints. Staff is very courteous, even with security concerns.
