The Prado of course seems to be the main attraction in terms of the galleries, if the crowds are anything to go by. But even in late September crowds are in all the galleries. This is expected. But you would gain by visiting, even if you are not a regular gallery visitor. I saw two temporary exhibitions both giving a different slant to the main artists presented from the Canon of art but also many Spanish artists not seen by me before. I also saw a glowing and familiar work by Fra Angelico that had recently undergone an extensive conservation process. There was an excellent video, in a comfy little theatre, describing the process. This was a highlight on this occasion. An exhibition on Ballenciaga’s dress designs and their, at times, seemingly tenuous relationship to paintings he encountered from an early age was a timed exhibition due to the extensive interest. The idea must have undergone extensive research. It was also a new slant on my experiences in many galleries.
Show was booked for 7.30 pm but only food was served till 8.30pm and once show started , we were spell bound. All three dancers were good. Finale by male dancer was electrifying and he was virtually doing endurance dance and was profusely sweating but still going strong. An explanation about songs and dance in English would help tourists to appreciate theme of dance and songs better. I would recommend this show to my friends and tourists
Nice big tour bus with a restroom. Our male guide was fluent in English & Spanish. (Forgot his name!!) Charming & helpful. So nice to not have to worry about driving or parking. Saw plenty in both towns. Good to be able to quickly get in to the alcazar & the cathedral. Just wish the day had more hours so we could have spent even longing. Would have loved to wonder & shop more. Next time!!!
Lots of riding on the bus, but we managed to have enough time to enjoy both cities. Great value. Museum/castle visit at Segovia is included, but not the cathedral in Toledo, which may not be worth the 10 euros to visit. Guide was excellent Enough time to visit, but not for shopping.
Unfortunately the Tour buses have commercials glued to the windows, so You cannot have a clear look out. Another Problem was, that one could not connect to the loudspeaker system, because many connections were ruined
