Full description
Immerse yourself in London’s most cherished traditions with the knowledge and expertise of a local guide. Meet your guide at Waterloo Place, where your 2.5-hour tour will begin with a stroll through St James's Park – one of the most beautiful of the royal parks.
Make sure to keep an eye out for the park's best-known residents, the pelicans, which were gifted by the Russian ambassador in a visit in 1664. Today's pelicans are the descendants of the original arrivals.

Then it’s off to Buckingham Palace for its oldest tradition - The Changing of the Guard. Your guide will get you up close and personal with the sound of trotting horses and calling guards. Watch as the New Queens Guard arrives from Wellington Barracks and takes over the responsibilities of the Old Guard in this age-old ritual.

Once the Guard change-over is finished it’s off to The Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace, complete with bespoke providing a lively insight into how The Mews operates direct from the staff, along with some snippets from the Royal Family themselves. You’ll discover the royal coaches and cars used by the royal family throughout history and to this day. Witness the daily workings of the stables that house the majestic Windsor Greys and Cleveland Bays.

Next is the State Stables where the royal livery is kept, and you'll get the opportunity to take some photos dressing up as a footman in specially-created livery for children and adults. You’ll get the ultimate Royal photo op when you step into a royal carriage, sit down and practice your regal wave just like Queen Victoria did in 1897 with the replica Semi-State Landau.

You will see the famous Diamond Jubilee Coach that was built to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and other treasures of The Royal Mews like the Gold State coach which has been used for every coronation since George VI in 1821; the glass coach; and the replica of the Semi-State Landau, used by Queen Victoria. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge used the 1902 State Landau after their wedding ceremony.
