Full description
This full-day tour from the London area takes you on a scenic drive to the historic naval dockyards of Portsmouth.

Not only does the harbor feature a number of museums, you’ll see the famous ships that attract visitors from around the world as well.

On your tour of several historic Royal Navy ships, the highlight will undoubtedly be HMS Victory, Nelson’s flagship during the famous Battle of Trafalgar. Learn what life was like for these brave sailors, climb the decks, and see where Nelson lived and died.

Another highlight is the Mary Rose, the flagship of King Henry VIII. The ship sank on its maiden voyage, just outside the harbor wall. It was raised from the seabed in the 1980s and is now housed in a brand-new museum along with thousands of artifacts.

You’ll also see HMS Warrior, the most powerful ship of its time in the 19th century.

If weather allows the trip also includes a harbor tour by boat, so you can see actual modern-day Royal Navy vessels in dock and many others visiting the huge natural harbor.

Enjoy a complimentary packed lunch and drinks. You may also like to treat yourself to some fish and chips by the harbor!

The highlight of my trip, it was absolutely brilliant

The day was exceeded my expectations, Steve Liddell was inspirational and made the day very special. He could not have looked after me any better than he did, and he was like a walking encyclopaedia. It was by far the best trip of my holiday and would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent day all around!

The trip to Portsmouth was excellent, I had no trouble meeting with Stephen Liddell at our arranged location. The trip to Portsmouth went well, and he was quite good at recommending what to go see and do. I loved the sights at the Dockyard, and got couple unexpected surprises with a ship returning from deployment and a car rally for veterans that morning. The trip has also given me ideas for further trips to Portsmouth in he future, thank you very much for the opportunity to take this trip. Many thanks to Stephen for his guidance and help that day!

Highly recommend

Stephen Liddell runs a very top-notch operation, from the moment of booking all the way thru the tour itself. We heard personally from Stephen as soon as we completed our booking, and he stayed in touch with us as our tour date approached. At all times, I felt we were in the hands of a professional. On the day of the tour, Stephen proved himself an outstanding guide. He's an excellent conversationalist with a very wide base of knowledge. He's kind, considerate, courteous and above all, he knows his business. I highly recommend.
