Full description
Visit two of the world's most prestigious university cities on this full-day tour, departing from London in the morning and returning at approximately 7:30 PM. See the highlights of these famous places in one day.

First you will drive to Cambridge, situated on the River Cam. Abundant with charming architecture, this city is a quieter version of its rival (or the Other Place as Oxford is known here), with leafy green gardens and a winding river, where students and tourists float on punts. Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, CS Lewis, and others, attended Cambridge's various colleges. Your walking tour will take you through the town center, passing the Eagle pub, the Chronophage (corpus clock), Senate House and King's College, ending near Trinity College. Take part in an optional punting tour on the River Cam, passing under its beautiful bridges.

In the afternoon your tour will continue to Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires, which revolves around its university. Founded during the 12th century and mottled by historical honey-colored buildings, Oxford remains young thanks to its student population. Many renowned figures studied here such as Bill Clinton, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Hugh Grant. You can visit Christ Church, one of the largest colleges in Oxford and home to the smallest cathedral in the UK. See buildings that featured in Harry Potter films. Finally, enjoy free time at the covered market before the drive back to London.

Great for Cambridge..not sure for Oxford

The time we had in Cambridge was not long but was filled with interesting things to do. The meeting point was close to all the interesting stuff which allowed for a great time without the fear of being late or losing way. In Oxford, it felt like we were in the city center and missed out on the better parts of the city. We had more time, but not many ideas for things to do. But the guide was amazing and the drive was smooth and nice.

It was good!

Gavin was great! But it was so hard to keep up. Maybe it’s for younger generation. We enjoyed both places. Punting in Cambridge was fun, but boats are very uncomfortable, also better for younger people. A lot of history. We would recommend this tour as long as you have stamina to move fast.
