Full description
Discover why Portugal is renowned as one of the world’s best wine-producing countries on a full-day tour of the Alentejo and Setubal Peninsula.

Along the way, the guide will give many insights about gastronomy and wines in Portugal. Drive East to the sunbaked plains of Alentejo, a region that stretches from the Spanish border to the Algarve in the south.

Upon arrival near Évora, visit a local winery and discover the process behind the production of these wines. Then, put your palate to the test during a 4-wine tasting of reds and whites as well as sampling some local products such as cheese, chouriço (smoked pork sausage), smoked ham and bread.

Continue to the 2nd winery in Alentejo, which has a long-standing winemaking tradition and a stellar reputation for producing intense and fruity ruby-colored reds. Venture out into the neatly pruned vines during a guided vineyard tour and learn about the climate and local varietals.

Compound your newfound knowledge during another wine tasting session, where a tutor will talk you through the complex flavors of each style. Have lunch here for a relaxing conclusion to the tour.

Very nice day, interesting tours and delicious wine!

The tour started at 8:45 a.m. and ended at 6:30 p.m. We were picked up on time by our guide Micaela. Already during the trip she told a lot about the area and regional specialties. Her uncomplicated and humorous manner ensured that the group quickly got to know each other and got into conversation. The two wineries that were visited were fundamentally very different, which made the tour really interesting. At the beginning there was a blind tasting and at both tastings regional and local cheeses and ham were served. Lunch took place in a typical restaurant in Évora. You could choose from the menu without restrictions, including coffee and dessert. Those interested in wine learn a lot about local peculiarities and cork cultivation is also discussed. Micaela did a lot to make the trip an entertaining experience!

Two different vineyards but both very interesting and informative.

A really good day out. Our driver/guide was informative, friendly and enthusiastic. There was a real contrast between the two places visited. The first featured an informative and fun wine-tasting session, with plenty of choice and engagement. The second involved less wine but lots of personal insights into natural older-style wine making - plus a walk/talk through the vineyard itself. Enjoyed the whole experience a lot.
