If you are into art and culture then this is a must for you. Get there early and spend all the time you need - which is lots because there is lots and lots to see. Everything is from the 14th to the 1700's and the quality of the workmanship is exceptional. Remember that everything here was a present from a King or Empreror to a peer. This was my second time here and was still very very impressed. You can learn a lot obout the Hapsburgs, old Europe and the Holy Roman Empire. Give yourself half a day there, savour and enjoy. There is also an excellent cafe on the first floor,

Marieta is the best tour guide for the city

My entire family loved Marieta and her walking tour of the city. Vienna is a beautiful city, and her insight was a five star performance. Every building she provided an excellent description of it’s history. Both my wife and mother in law love roses, and when she took through the park, the roses left them both speechless. She could not have planned a better tour. Marieta is gracious, professional and every family that tours Vienna should request her. We thank her one last time for the tour of a lifetime.

So much historical art that you can't take it all in in a day - not without a coffee and apfelstrudel break upstairs in the restaurant! The exhibition seems to go for ever especially if you look at everything that is in there - from about 400AD to the 19th century. Give yourself at least a half day and more if you want to see the art exhibiton upstairs! Beautiful exhibition and building.

Having paid for the combo ticket online and printed off voucher, it was annoying to discover we had to join long queue at Imperial Treasury with people who had not bought advance tickets, as online voucher had to be exchanged at ticket desk for proper ticket, so not really worth booking in advance!!

I think the Gallery in question yields and outstanding collection of Dutch and German masters of the 16th/17th century, i.e. a real classical school of paintings from the times when the artists depicted the reality (in a strong contradiction to the recent art).
