What people are saying about Ksar Aït Benhaddou
Everything excellent from beginning. Our riad was not accessible by car so we got email with pick up point nearby. Without any trouble we managed to find our van, which was visibly marked, quite easy to spot. Driver Adil was punctual on time, we picked up another 4 person on the way, together 6 person- cameral and friendly group. Adil is superb driver, we felt safe all the time although half of the driving was rather on mountain serpentine through Atlas (crossing Tizi Tichka pass - fantastic view) and generally a lot of driving in one day so be prepare, take some snacks. Enough breaks for loo and straighten your body. He also stopped if we spotted beautiful panorama to take pictures. We saw a lot Kasbah, oasis and snowy peak of Atlas from the distance- truly amazing with contrast of rocky desert landscapes. The main attraction Ait Benhaddou- really worth of effort and long driving as the view from the top are breathtaking, can wholeheartedly recommend it !
We had a one day trip through to Atlas mountain to Ait Benhaddou with Hadi. He arrived very punctual to our riad and we were 4 of us all day long. We were driving through amazing places the mountain just changed in every 10-15 minutes that is how the rocks, surroundings, villages are so different. We felt we are on another planet sometimes. Hadi told us many stories how Moroccons live their life, he was absolutely the best guide who we met long time ago. I recommend him a lot, he kept our interest all day long. He looked after our wishes all day long. We asked him to stop the car to take pictures where we wanted and it was never a problem for him. This tour is just perfect, I am happy that we did not miss it the time we were in Marrakesh. It is absolutely a 5 star day tour! And the car we went was very comportable, clean and safe.
The driver Tariq was good driver. The weather was not to good (it was snowing in the mountain) but we were in full safety. It was our first visitation in Sahara and it was unforgetable. In the Atlas was -5 and after that in the desert was +20 degree so you have to thinking about. The trip was all day long but if you read the description and feedbacks you can get ready for drinks, sandwiches, clothes, etc. We made lot of stops so we could use toilets, buy souvenirs, eat lunch, take pictures. The nature was very nice, excellent and various. Cool adventure and experince. On the whole I offer this trip if you would like to see the desert and the Atlas in 1 day.
The driver was very kind and helpful, and he drove safely. He stopped when we wanted and took pictures of us. The landscape was amazing during the tour. Through the Atlas mountains was very exciting because of the weather. The temperature is changing very fast. You start in 20 C and after 2 hours you are in the middle of Atlas (2200m high) like winter time. So don't forget your coat at home like we did! Ait Ben Haddou is definitely the best attraction in this excursion. The Atlas Film Studio was very good as well, it was 50 dirham/person with guided tour, but there was no guide. So eventually it worth it but be ready for a very long travelling (4 hours).
Lanhar was an excellent guide: kind, thoughtful and informative. The colours of the stony desert were amazing; Ait Benhaddou is almost surreal. We saw how the 'bricks' were made and learned of the history of this place. We were given free time at Ouarzazate and I learned of its history. The road is treacherous and hence Lanhar's careful driving was a key element in the enjoyment of the day. Lanhar has a friendly but not intrusive disposition which makes him an ideal guide. He created a very easy atmosphere in the group. I had a great day. Thank you
