Loved Kotor! Beautiful and welcoming port. We arrived at the cruise port and went to the designated netting spot. We did not like the confusion finding the guide at the meeting spot for the bus. But once on the bus we enjoyed the audio commentary and the bus ride around Kotor. Loved our tour guide through the old town. She was pleasant and had good information our favorite part of the day.

The actual bus ride was very good.

We were on the bus at 10:45 for an 11:00 reservation. We were told to get off and wait for another bus as it had been oversold. Not happy about that as we had to really hustle to get there. The driver did give us a voucher for the Roman Mosaics and I never understood if it came with our ticket or if it was an apology for what happened. The ride was great and we got off on stop 2 and had a lovely seaside lunch.

Perast & Bajova Kula beach are stunning

The name hop-on hop-off isn't entirely true. You have a designated bus you are assigned to on the way out. You get is see all and experience the walking tour of Kotor ONLY if you stay on the bus! The tour of the old town happens only once/day so we missed that in light of the fact that Perast was so beautiful and opted to hop off. The Risan mosaic museum is not worth the trip. Also, the last bus back through the circuit is around 3.00/3.30. To top it off the guide on the bus roared abuse out the window to a cyclist when the bus driver nearly killed him off the bike, it was appaling!! So, I'd recommend getting a BlueLine bus to Perast instead, wander there and enjoy the views for a couple hours. Come back through Bajova Kula beach and spend the afternoon. All possible using the local bus service but I would recommend getting a bus timetable to ensure you know the times of the bus on the circuit as they are not regular, save you waiting in the heat. Enjoy Kotor
