Full description
Experience the Neuenheimer side of Heidelberg, which was the Roman nucleus of the city. Neuenheim developed from a craftsman quarter which already existed at the end of the 19th century and transformed into a “posh suburb.”
Follow us from the old Roman bridge over the Philosophenweg to Bismarkturm and Hölderlin Anlage, to the lost village of Dagersbach and the entrenchments of the 1848 revolution. Enjoy the indescribable panorama of the old town and learn all about the history of this unbelievably beautiful place. Follow in the footsteps of empress Sissi, Mark Twain, Friedrich Hölderlin, Franz Brentano and Victor Hugo. In the 19th century, strolls on this romantic path in Heidelberg were a popular pastime for students and travelers.
