What people are saying about Greve in Chianti
We could not have had a better experience. While it was supposed to be a group tour, my daughter and I ended up being the only 2. Our tour guide, Francesco, is the reason for my 5 star rating. He bought my daughter her first Italian coffee and then entertained us and was willing to answer all of our questions about Tuscany (and really Italy in general). He even shared his Napoletan pizza dough recipe with us! San Gimignano is a quaint and beautiful town and I do wish we had had more time to explore. Don't miss Dondoli's Gelato! Both wineries were beautiful and we learned a lot about the process of wine making. We were given bread, meats, cheeses, olive oils (including truffle and spicy truffle), balsalmic vinegar and dessert. We arrived back in Florence full and happy and with wonderful information and memories. Thank you Francesco!
We went out with a group of six. Our tour guide, Guido was a sommelier and grew up in the region. We tried 11 wines at 3 vineyards as well as olive oils and a balsamic vinegar. Lunch was provided and they even gave me a vegetarian option. Meat, cheese, bruschetta for all as a starter, plus roasted eggplant for me. The main was pasta with ragu sauce for the others, tomato sauce for me. We finished with olive oil cake. The locations were quiet- we had rooms to ourselves in each case, and the views were spectacular. This tour was worth every penny. We highly recommend it!!!
We went to 3 wineries and tasted 4 wines from each, as well as olive oil. There was lunch provided in 1 winery and we stopped over at 2 villages. Guido is a trained Sommelier and was able to provide really good explanations of the history of the regions and the wine.
I absolutely love every minute of this tour! Everything was well organized and everyone was well prepared. I was extremely impressed will all the wines we tasted! Lunch was amazing too!
