Green Island: Tours & Tickets

Fantastic friendly crew took us out on the boat to near Green Island. For me the snorkelling was disappointing, the reef is in trouble and there were not as many fish around as I remembered. The crew explained the impact of the weather on the reef but without being political, simply explaining recent weather patterns effects. This was not helped by the fact I detest the cold and the water was not as worm as I was expecting, but that was my issue. The journey out and the service provided were excellent. The boat was small and not overcrowded. We had perfect weather to enjoy the journey both ways. Green Island was undergoing renovation so not overly welcoming, but walking through the national park was refreshing and enjoyable. Lunch was excellent. Plenty of food for the people on board. Cold meats and salad, with plenty of prawns and smoked salmon, a range of other meats and a full range of salads. Overall an excellent experience, that makes me concerned for the future of the reef.

Staff were friendly. It was unclear if boat and staff would stay on island with us. We were told any questions find a staff member. But as soon as we were docked on Island we were rushed off because the boat was heading back to Cairns. The tour desk where we checked in told us where the best place to snorkel was. We were very disappointed and went over to the life guard swimming area and found it was wonderful. Lots of colourful fish. But overall we had to keep watching the time. A bit hard if you have not got a waterproof watch! We did not know that a snorkel deposit was required. Luckily we had brought a little cash with us. Also no where on the tour website was it mentioned that there was a resort on Green island with gift shops. Beware of the little quail like birds. As soon as we had sat down on the beach they had reached into our handbag and stolen our morning tea muffins...

We researched several tours for the Great Barrier Reef and were so glad we found this one. There were only 11 of us on the tour and 3 crew members. We all got to know each other and had a really personalized experience. Cassie, Chris and Pasqual (the crew) were awesome. Always checking with us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The snorkeling was the best. Our ‘stinger suits’ gave us peace of mind, although they probably weren’t needed. The food was really good too. Ale sure you book with this tour for the time of your life.

I lack confidence in the water but Cassy, Chris and Pascal made the snorkelling experience absolutely wonderful. They were so helpful and patient. They were also exceptionally nice and funny and knowledgeable. They were what made this activity one of the best things I have done in my life. They even provided a delicious lunch and morning and afternoon teas. All my family loved it. Thankyou so much.

Great day. when I booked it they gave me the wrong departing time, but I rang and spoke to someone and they said it was changed, only to get to the terminal and told it wasn't but they had no problem in fixing it there. We had a great day all round. All the staff were so good and helpful. Would definitely go again. Thanks.
