Full description
Escape the hustle and bustle of Florence city center on a full-day tour of the charming villages of Cinque Terre, world famous for its dramatic coastline and terraced towns of painted houses.

Following a pick-up from your hotel (or Livorno Port for cruise ship passengers), drive across the rolling hills of Tuscany and past the Carrara marble quarries en route to Riomaggiore. Your driver will tell the history and explain the traditions of the area along the way.

Upon arrival in Riomaggiore, look at the boats in the marina, and stroll the colorful streets to browse the local shops. Continue to Manarola, a picture-postcard village of painted houses surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.

Transfer by boat (in season) or train to Vernazza, considered the “Pearl of Cinque Terre.” Stop for lunch (own expense) in any of the restaurants on the waterfront. Sample the local cuisine along with a glass of Cinque Terre wine, produced in the region since the 11th century.

After lunch, drive along the impressive coast road to Corniglia, the smallest of the 5 villages and the only one that can barely be reached by sea. See the vineyards on the terraces of the Cinque Terre hills, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area before your transfer back to Florence (or Livorno Port).

A perfect day with a guide who became a friend

My one big splurge for this trip was to hire a private driver/guide to take me to Cinque Terre. I am so happy I spent the money for a private tour. Adriano was such a joy to spend a day with. He was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make things perfect for me. I told him I was looking forward to octopus for lunch and he arranged reservations at a wonderful restaurant with an amazing seafood salad and the best grilled octopus I have had. He made sure I was comfortable exploring on my own by drawing me maps and giving clear directions. I was worried about going off on my own but I really wanted to. Adriano provided everything I needed to explore these amazing places with confidence by myself (and with him in a couple places) I get this kind of attention when I visit out-of-town friends. I never imagined that Adriano would be my new friend who wanted to make my 10 hour journey forever memorable. He succeeded. Treat yourself and book w/ Adriano. Grazie, Adriano!

Wonderful experience, must do for all!

Cinque Terre was not high on our agenda prior to our trip. However after taking up the tour, we felt that this was the highlight of our trip. Mauro - our guide was very kind and caring and his knowledge of the place and his experience was exceptional. He knew exactly where to stop and how much time to spend at each village. As a result our tour went like clock work and we had enough time to not only appreciate the views but also buy some local souvenirs and have a tasty lunch and great gelato. The tour involved all aspects of transport - some walking, a train journey, a ferry ride and of course car. Mauro was with us all the way through and even waited for us to confirm our train journey to Rome before bidding us good bye. A guide who definitely made our tour memorable!

It was ok, but over price

Leonardo was a nice tour guide but after spending a week in the Mediterranean area taking tours in different cities this one definitely was over price (too expensive for the service provided)
