Our insider tips

Avoid the queues

As you know, Paris is quite the popular holiday destination. Plan ahead if you want to jump around and see the Eiffel Tower from lots of angles. It's easy to buy tickets online and go straight to the top -- but if you're looking to do Paris on the cheap, remember to plan waiting time at major monuments into your itinerary.

Watch your stuff

Lots of travelers are looking for a cafe or restaurant nearby these views, where they can relax and regroup away from the crowds. While all the major tourist areas are safe enough, tourists tend to let their guard down as soon as they order a café au lait. As always, zip up your purse and watch out for thieves.

Opening hours

If you decide to get up close and personal with the Tower itself, it's conveniently open 365 days a year. From mid-June to early September, opening hours are from 9:00AM to midnight. During the rest of the year, from 9:30AM to 11:00PM.

Good to know

  • When should I visit?
The Eiffel Tower is open 365 days a year!
  • Is it expensive?
Free to look at from the outside. Summit tickets prices vary depending on things like the tour type or level of access.
  • Will I need a guide?
Only if you want one! Many travelers enjoy learning about the history and architecture from a guide. Equally as great, tour groups usually get to skip ahead of the long line of tourists waiting to buy tickets.
  • How to get there
The two closest métro stops are Bir-Hakeim (Line 6) and Trocadero (Line 9).
  • Additional information

    • This attraction is free for children under four years old.

    • Keep an eye on your handbag at all times.

Surely the best way to experience the Eiffel Tower!

This must surely be the best way to experience the Eiffel Tower! After a busy day of site-seeing in Paris we were a bit worried about climbing all those steps, but the climb is shorter than you think (especially with the 1st floor pitstop). Our guide, Sam, had so many fascinating stories that you never really noticed you were exercising. You won’t get a better way of experiencing and appreciating this magnificent monument. I’d also recommend taking the optional summit access (which is only accessible by lift). The view is well worth it!

Perfect tour when you’re traveling with family of 11.

Travelled with 5 kids 5years old and under(youngest 5months old), fast track tickets it’s a must specially when you’re doing a day trip and you still want to see more of Paris.

Eric was superb. He was entertaining & extremely knowledgeable.

Eric was a spectacular guide. He is humorous, knowledgeable and extremely entertaining. He was generous with both his time and knowledge of both the Eiffel Tower and Paris in general. I highly recommend this tour.

Brilliant! Our guide John was fabulous. You won’t regret this tour!

John our guide was fabulous. Great knowledge of the history of the tower, was funny and kept talking throughout the tour even when we were in queues for elevators. His knowledge made the time standing around pass. Our 8 and 10 year olds loved it. Didn’t complain once as they were enthralled with what they were seeing and hearing. Highly recommend
