What people are saying about Edinburgh
This is a lovely tour with the most breathtaking scenery. Our bus driver was very knowledgeable. However clients need to be aware that there is an extra cost involved if you want to travel on the ferry on the Lochness. This is not advertised. Please carry cash with you,I think it was £15 per adult & £9 per child. Also we were told by email that it would be a short 5 minute walk from our hotel which was The Double Tree Hilton to the pick up point which was the Marriott hotel. When I asked the concierge the night before the tour to direct us she laughed & said the tour operator was mistaken ,it was approximately 15 minutes by car. We hired a taxi.If you are staying around that area give yourself 15-20 minutes to get to the Marriott hotel depending on the traffic. Our bus driver was kind enough to drop us off at our hotel after the tour as it ends quite late
Our guide was energetic, informative about history and funny. He made sure we knew enough to get the most out of each stop, the scenery along the way, and to eat well while still keeping things on schedule. It was a highlight for our group of 5 to be able to just take it all in, at a reasonable pace, and to see first-hand why Outlander wisely made use of so many incredible venues and scenery in Scotland. I'd do a Rabbie's tour again anytime, and use Getmyguide on my jaunts around the world. Fabulous!
I would had preferred to have had the entry tickets for Alnwick included in the total price instead of having to pay more upon arrival. The Lindisfarne visit was a bit shorter then what i would had liked but still offered a brief insight into the history of the island. The tide might have been the the cause for that though. Alnwick offered nice scenic views and interesting objects on display in the Fusilier museum and the stateroom. All in all, a good day.
Tour guide, David, was very knowledgeable about the area. Nice stopover in fishing village. Adequate time to visit St. Andrews. Not rushed. Plenty of time to see highlights and have leisurely lunch. Last stop at castle for 5 minutes was not worthwhile. Would have liked 30 - 45 minutes there.
I thought I had booked for a small group tour. The big coach driver, Jason was excellent, the guide John was excellent. It was not their fault that teenagers with limited English and limited interest in Scotland’s highlands, basically, “ ruled” the coach.
