What people are saying about Cortina d’Ampezzo
Our guide Simone was sensational. He was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and good fun to be with. Also a good driver. Starting at Piazzale Roma in Venice, we were able to locate Simone easily, due to the clear directions we were given. The trip was unhurried and informative, with regular stops. It was an easy and very enjoyable day, exploring a gloriously beautiful part of Northern Italy, that while only two hours from Venice, was an entirely different experience. Highly recommended.
We loved the tour but would have happily spent less time in Cortina or not gone there at all and spent more time at the lake and/or at the top of the mountain viewing the 3 peaks. We appreciate that Cortina is a famous location and some people like to shop there but all the people on our tour (including ourselves) chose to tour the Dolomite mountains to experience their grandeur and see the stunning and magnificent views in that area.
The arrangements were well explained and met and the timetable was well adhered to. We were given good explanations at the various places we stopped and the driver was very forthcoming with information and appropriate advice. One thing which would have helped would have been some ongoing commentary about the region etc as we drove through - this would have added to our knowledge and understanding of the region.
We got lucky! A great group of people, an attentive and interesting guide who drove well and did his best to show us the highlights of the area while trying to accomodate everyone's needs. Highly recommend this day trip.
Simone was fantastic. Punctual and polite, he engaged a multinational group the entire way from Venice to Tri Cime de Lavaredo. Amusing, spectacular, and worth it!
