Full description
Start the tour in Llandudno where you will meet your expert tour guide and climb into a comfortable 16-seater minibus. Set off on your adventure into the history, heritage, and culture of Wales. First, take a drive along the Great Orme Road, a 1-way scenic road which is the longest of its kind in the UK. Admire the spectacular cliffs, wildlife, and views out to the Irish Sea and Anglesey. Take a photo stop in the ancient town of Conwy where you can view the castle's domineering and towering walls and catch that picture-perfect photo from the Conwy Estuary Bridge.

Then, head on to Penrhyn Quarry for a chance to see how mining history has moved with the times and merged with the adrenaline adventure industry. Drive into the glacial Nant Ffrancon Pass & Ogwen Valley in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, and enjoy many photo opportunities at the many lakes you will be visiting. Also, learn some local history and tales about local welsh myths and legends along the way. Take another photo opportunity during a stop at LLynau Mymbyr in Capel Curig, with Snowdonia now in view at the end of the lake.

Next, as you head further into Snowdonia, enjoy the panoramas from the Nant Gwynant Pass. Gaze in awe at the spectacular view of the valley below with its lakes, and the towering Snowdonia mountain range in front of you. Take the famous Pen y Pass Road from the upper regions of the mountains to the lower summits and into the mountain village of Llanberis. During this scenic drive, you are likely to see rock climbers and mountain walkers as you feel dwarfed by the towering valley slopes.

Arrive in Llanberis and head over to the National Slate Museum where you can travel into the past of an industry and a way of life that has chiseled itself into the very being of Wales. See how the workshops and buildings are designed as though quarrymen and engineers have just put down their tools and left the courtyard for home, while an array of talks and demonstrations including slate-splitting give you a real insight into the hardships of past quarry life. Take in the beauty of the hidden wonder of Vivian Quarry before setting off to the next stop.

After this, arrive at Dolbadarn Castle and take a short walk from the car park to admire the views. Then, stop at the lakeside of Llyn Padarn where you can see in the backdrop the years of workings of the old slate quarrying. Finally, head over to Caernarfon Castle and take a walk around this world heritage site. Return back to Llandudno where your tour will end after a jam-packed day of sightseeing.

The trip was very informative and enjoyable. The package covered most of the Snowdonia region, with enough time given to explore the towns. The route taken was scenic.
