The route was excellent and the buses came frequently. The drivers were friendly and experts at squeezing in narrow spaces. The commentary was clear and informative. Not very busy on a Friday. The only problem was that I pre-booked the tickets online but realised afterwards that we would only be able to exchange our printed voucher for valid tickets at the main train station, which was not convenient. Booking online does not give you any advantage and if you had to cancel shortly before the trip, you would lose your money.
It was an absolutely nice walk through beautiful streets and colleges of the Oxford. I was very lucky to have Edward as our tour guide, because he told really a lot about history and traditions of the colleges and students. He showed us plenty of fascinating spots many of which were hidden from larger tourist groups so that we could listen to him undisturbed and fully enjoy the atmosphere. Highly recommended! These 2 hours make you immerse in the culture and spirit of our the world‘s best university!
We enjoyed our tour around Oxford lead by the excellent guide Peter, who had picked out a good route, showing us significant buildings and giving us great stories from English history, combined with personal stories of his own time at Oxford University.
Great thing, pretty much like taxi and they go roind so often you never get bored waiting, we have recognized 2 different buses, red one had much better pre recorded guide but green had live guide with plenty of extra info
Peter, our guide, was a former Oxford student and made the place come alive with fascinating stories about the place. Although only 3 hours, I felt familiar with Oxford by the time we had finished. Well worth the cost!
