What people are saying about Chiang Rai
Our guide M, was very informative and certainly explained the day’s itinerary. Enough stops were provided for the toilet and refreshments if you wanted to. There was always cold water if you wanted it and a fresh face/hand wipe. The hot springs are not for swimming and just provide a chance to stretch and see eggs boiled from the natural hot springs. The white temple was very impressive and as we were leaving, the crowds began. Lunch was a nice stop and certainly enough food was provided. The Opium Museum was interesting but more time here would have been useful. The boat trip on the Mekong to the Golden Triangle was certainly interesting but the trip over to Laos where you walk around markets of the same over priced items, wasn’t needed. While it was interesting walking on Laos, the markets are a let down. This needs to be replaced with something else. The old pagoda on the way home was serene and a great finish as was the Amazon cofffee stop on the long drive back.
Was a good trip and the guides and driver were excellent. The white Temple is a must visit. Although we enjoyed the trip we would have liked to have spent a bit more time at the White Temple as we only had 20 mins there which was not enough time to visit the gallery with the artists original paintings. It maybe worth thinking in the future to cut the boat trip and visit to Loas a miss.
Em (or M), our tour-guide, was amazing. His unique experience and view is what made the trip unforgettable for us. You see a side of Thailand that you wouldn't have otherwise. I highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a more relaxing and insightful activity.
Thanks to our guide and driver who did everything to make our trip comfortable we felt absolutely relaxed, safe and welcomed , although 12 hours of trip may sound long in the first place. We are very grateful for all the warm welcome
A great day trip which fully where as expected and written in the resume. The tour was perfectly planned and the guide was very good to tell what we drove past and told a lot about the Thailand culture and way of living.
